Wintertrip 2002

For this year's Wintertrip we chose Kruszwica as a place which seemed to be in central Poland. However some us got only 70 miles trip but the others drove 140 and the one - over 200 miles. Fortunately the unexpectedly nice weather made all the trips very pleasant.

The Warsaw Cop Trouble

Warsaw group started the meeting with a little delay. Police patrol got very interested in what a bunch of MR2s were doing on one of the main city squares. They checked all our documents, insurances and searched the trunks thoroughly. Of course they found nothing suspicious but kept us at place for nearly an hour.

The Arrival

Finally all expected cars have arrived to Kruszwica. We aligned them on the parking lot and shot few pictures. Those who haven't got a chance to meet other club members could admire Kordian's black Mieæka with custom front spoiler and Toms scoop, uncomaparable condition of Pawe³'s '96 red MR2, Wojtek's wide tire setup with 9x16 Dezent wheels, dink's turbo engine (probably there are only 2 or 3 turbos in Poland).

We quickly found out that we beaten the record of gathering the largest number of MR2s in Poland in one place. So, the current figure is 6! Hope to beat it over soon...

The view from the Tower

Along with a bunch of school-kids we climbed the 32 meters high Mouse Tower. Despite of the historical value of the place the kids were more interested in club cars standing below.

The Cruise

Right after having some pizza we re-grouped the cars to make the final pictures. We decided to make a cruise around the city but it was so small that we left it behind and headed South toward Konin.

The Pitstop

We stopped for a while at very small parking lot. It was equipped with a ramp so dink drove over it to find which engine undercover part was missing. Unfortunately he also found some oil leak around gearbox sealing which lead the car to the garage in the very next days.

The Farewell

We arrived to Konin with a great caution because of many cop cars chasing for speeding drivers. Having in mind the morning troubles we drove at speed limits.

So, along with a teatime the farewell time has come too. We shot the last pictures, greeted everyone and headed home.

Summary

I hope that everyone had a good time. Judging from the smiling faces and jokes it was a good piece of fun. Thank you all for coming!
